Amazon seller account launch checklist for Indian sellers

Getting ready to sell on Amazon India? Use this checklist to prepare documents, listings and settings before you launch.

Before you register

Keep these ready: PAN, GSTIN (for most categories), a bank account in the business name, a working phone number and email, and your business address.

Make sure the business name and address match exactly across GST, bank and registration documents. Mismatches are a common reason for verification delays.

Prepare your catalogue

  • Product names, brand and manufacturer details
  • Barcodes (GTIN/EAN) or a GTIN exemption where eligible
  • Accurate dimensions and weight, including packaging
  • Clear images on a white background that meet Amazon image rules
  • HSN code and GST rate for each product

Set up your account safely

Use the account owner login only for owner tasks. Add each team member or service provider as a separate user with only the permissions they need. Turn on two-step verification.

After launch

Check account health and notifications daily for the first few weeks, respond to buyer messages within 24 hours, and keep stock levels accurate to avoid cancellations.
